President Joianne Smith, Ph.D., provides the vision for Oakton College. The Board of Trustees serves as the College's governing body and supports her leadership. The Board includes seven members elected to serve six-year terms and one student elected annually to represent the student body.
The President’s Council is a team of senior administrators with roles representing Academic Affairs, Administrative Affairs, Advancement, Student Affairs, Human Resources, and Institutional Effectiveness and Strategic Planning. Working closely with President Smith, the Council helps guide instiutional progress.
The Council reports to the president and works with the Board of Trustees to advise on, develop and implement college-wide initiatives as well as oversee the College's operations.
