Illinois State University

Oakton students can transfer to Illinois State University (ISU) according to the following academic pathways.

ISU offers guaranteed admission to community college graduates through their Redbird Promise program.

Honors Program

Additionally, Oakton Honors graduates who meet all general ISU transfer and program criteria are guaranteed admission into ISU and ISU's Honors program.

Benefits

Access to ISU admissions counselors and academic advisors to help navigate the transfer process.
Eligibility to apply for Honors Scholarships, in addition to other Transfer Scholarships.
Students who maintain these requirements have a special designation placed on their ISU transcript and are recognized at commencement.

Special Notes

Applications to the Honors program are only accepted for fall terms.
- Students who transfer to ISU in spring terms can apply for admission to the Honors program for the following fall semester.
Students will not be required to submit some of the other Honors Program application requirements, such as written responses to essay prompts.
Students must complete a minimum of one Honors learning experience per semester and maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.3 each semester at ISU.
