Columbia College Missouri
Oakton’s partnership with Columbia College Missouri allows students to fulfill all general education requirements and transfer credits toward a Columbia bachelor's degree through the Transfer Agreement.
Benefits
- Students who meet the requirements will receive credit for all of Columbia College’s general education requirements, allowing for a smooth transition.
- Opportunity to receive a tuition discount of 5% per credit hour at Columbia College Missouri through the Associate Degree Transfer Grant.
- Eligibility to participate in the Associate to Bachelors Program (A2B).
- Ability to attend any of Columbia College Missouri's Illinois locations in Elgin, Freeport, Gurnee, and Crystal Lake, or complete coursework online.
Participation Details
In order to qualify for Columbia College Missouri Transfer Agreement, a student must:
- Complete an AA, AS, AFA, or ASE OR complete any other associate degree, along with the completion of EGL 102 (Composition II) with a grade of C or better and at least 30 additional semester hours that meet Columbia's requirement in the Humanities, Social/Behavioral Science and Math/Science areas with at least one course in each area. Please see the equivalency guide.
- Students may complete general education coursework simultaneously at Columbia College and Oakton College.
- Must take 39 course credit hours in upper level courses to earn a bachelor’s degree from Columbia.
- Minimum of 30 course credit hours must be taken at Columbia College to satisfy the Columbia residency requirement.
